Leeds Rhinos are struggling in 2022.
Not only are the West Yorkshire club out of the Challenge Cup at the hands of their local rivals Castleford Tigers, but they also sit third bottom of the Super League table on points difference only.
Leeds have won one game from six in the league so far in 2022 and face reigning champions St Helens on Friday night and Rhinos legend Danny McGuire believes his old club are in ‘a fair bit of trouble’.
“I think they are in a fair bit of trouble and Richard Agar stood down a couple of weeks ago and our great friend Jamie Jones-Buchanan has taken the reins there,” McGuire told Sky Sports.
“If there is one person that bleeds blue and amber more than me it is Jamie Jones-Buchanan – he is Leeds through and through and if Jonesy can’t galvanise Leeds then no one can.
McGuire referenced how tough times whilst at Leeds made him appreciate everything good a lot more.
“It’s a tough period for the Rhinos now, we had some tough times throughout our times as players.
“But, we believed in the process and came out the other side and it does make you appreciate the good times a little bit more but at the minute, I can’t really see where the good times are coming from.”
