Hull KR are set to play their first pre-season friendly tomorrow evening yet that hasn’t stopped them from dealing with some roster management today in the form of releasing Max Kirkbright.

The club announced the news via their Twitter page bushing Kirkbright the best in his pursuit at finding a new club.

The news comes just a day prior to the Robins travelling to Featherstone for Craig Hall’s testimonial game.

Kirkbright never made the first team but was given a squad number last year, although didn’t receive one for 2023.

The 19-year old centre had formerly skippered the academy side but never made the transition to the first team, he’ll now have the opportunity to find game time elsewhere.

Hull KR have named their squad for their opening pre-season game tomorrow night and it’s very young however it does feature the club’s star signing, Tom Opacic, who will operate at centre on debut with fellow signings Sam Luckley and Louis Senior also debuting.

Ireland international Ethan Ryan will feature in the back row with Opacic and play will be orchestrated by Jordan Abdull but generally the squad is full of youth.

The club announced the squad news via their Twitter profile.
