Hull KR announce immediate stadium expansion for Leeds Rhinos fixture

Craven Park Super League Hull KR

Hull KR have certainly have a season to remember, and now, the club have announced an immediate stadium expansion due to high demand.

With just three games left of the regular season, Hull KR find themselves with the very real possibility of winning a maiden League Leaders’ Shield, if they can overcome their next obstacle – Wigan Warriors.

Willie Peters said after their win over Salford Red Devils: “We’re in a really strong position but we always talk about performance. I still think there are areas of our game that we can work on and improve.

“Next it’s playing against the world champions at their place. There’s never easy games but we’re looking forward to the challenge next week.”

It’s expected to be a big crowd at the Brick Community Stadium, but after that, the Robins have a home game against Leeds Rhinos to get past.

There, it will be a similarly huge crowd – and the club have confirmed, via a statement today: “Due to unprecedented demand, the club have taken the decision to add an additional temporary capacity of 1,000 seats at the South end of Sewell Group Craven Park for our upcoming Round 27 clash against Leeds Rhinos and our home play-off tie.

“Seats in this section will go on sale online at hullkr.co.uk/tickets at 4pm today.

“Please note that tickets will be reserved seating and will be sold on a ‘best buy’ basis meaning that supporters won’t be able to choose their specific seat.”

This will take the capacity up over 13,000 at Craven Park, and will allow the side to have a season-high attendance in what has been a special season for attendances.

The home end has been a sell-out for all of Hull KR’s home games this year, and this temporary expansion will take them to new heights.
