Hull KR and Wigan Warriors boast impressive Challenge Cup Final ticket sales 24 hours after release

After less than 24 hours of Challenge Cup Final tickets being released, both Hull KR and Wigan Warriors have recorded some impressive sales.

Tickets were released roughly one hour after each semi-final had concluded, in a result that saw KR victorious over Warrington Wolves at Doncaster’s Eco-Power Stadium.

Wigan, meanwhile, earned their way to Wembley after a 32-0 victory over St Helens – the biggest win for the Warriors over their rivals in 26 years.

In what will be a repeat of the last two Grand Finals, matches that resulted in one win apiece, the expectation going into yet another KR-Wigan final is that it will be a cracker, and early sales suggest just that.

After around three hours of sales, Hull KR had already sold 10,000 tickets, with plenty of fans wanting to watch Willie Peters hopeully end his Challenge Cup story with a back-to-back trophy before he departs to the PNG Chiefs.

Wigan also had plenty of interest, with the club revealing they have sold 6,000 tickets in the opening day of sales.

With Wembley crowds a topic of big discussion in the rugby league sphere, the early signs suggest that this year’s showpiece event will be well supported, as the sport to break the 70,000 mark for the first time since 2016.

Serious About Rugby League have contacted the RFL for an official figure at this stage, but regardless the initial signs show that a great number of rugby league fans will be heading down to the capital later this month.
