Hull KR have had a brilliant start to the season but couldn’t quite cap it with a third win from three last Friday night when they fell to Leigh Leopards.
Despite that a key part of the team’s success has come through their youth players, not necessarily those on the pitch now but the development of them and who they have become.
Mikey Lewis has become a mainstay in the starting 13 having come through the academy ranks, whereas the likes of Sam Wood and Will Dagger have both shone when called on this season.
Willie Peters is clearly keen on giving youth a go as well having come from the NRL where the youth academies are treated as the huge talent pool for the big league.
That said it’s been announced by Rovers that they are allowing one of their standout youngsters to leave the club on loan for a short period.
Young Jack Potter has joined League One Doncaster on a two-week loan, although it could be extended seemingly.
The half-back had a spell with Newcastle Thunder in 2022 but will now head to Doncaster where there is plenty of experience in the team, not least in the shape of Brett Ferres.
Both clubs announced the move via their Twitter pages.

The 19-year-old will learn a lot from the switch as he learns aspects of the game against men, having learned at KR all the skills from the likes of Jordan Abdull.
With development he could become a star of the future, just like the career progress thus far of fellow KR youngster Mikey Lewis.
