Hull FC’s Jake Connor sends message to Shaun Wane following Wigan Warriors win

Jake Connor is like marmite.

Love him or hate him, the talent of the Hull FC star is almost unrivalled with ball in hand.

Able to flick a pass out of nowhere, attract numerous defenders and put in some delightful kicks, Connor can do absolutely everything going forward.

Of course, with every talent there is usually a weakness and for the Hull man it is the defensive side of things, but that is outweighed by his presence in attack.

And, in a 31-22 victory over the Wigan Warriors on Saturday afternoon, Connor registered another FIVE assists to extend his lead to the top of the try assist charts by five.

The fullback now has 22 try assists to his name – an average of almost two a game – with his nearest challenger Huddersfield Giants’ Tui Lolohea who is on 17.

Having been cut adrift from Shaun Wane’s England squad in 2023, Connor is doing everything right to get his name back into the former Wigan boss’ thinking.

And, if he keeps producing the goods in the Black and White shirt of Hull FC then who is to say he may well be part of the World Cup squad at the end of 2022.
