Jake Connor won the man-of-the-match award in last night’s incredible win over Leeds Rhinos.
The fullback enjoyed a superb game, controlling the ball and playing with a smile on his face, and Connor knows that Hull FC needed to improve after the 33-26 loss to Castleford Tigers last weekend.
“I’m just happy to get the win it was a difficult win after the Cas game,” Connor said live on Sky Sports after the game.
“It was pretty disappointing but we had to prove something to ourselves in getting that consistency, but the games we have won we have been outstanding.
“I just focus on the game and focus on playing well, I had a good game at Salford and dropped off a bit against Castleford, but I’ve put my head down and focused on the Leeds game.”
When asked by Sky Sports pundit Jenna Brooks whether or not he has spoken to England head coach Shaun Wane about being left out of the 30-man training squad, Connor revealed there has been no contact.
“I haven’t spoken to him and I’m just focusing on what I need to do and everything will take care of itself.”
