Jake Connor is arguably one of Super League’s greatest talents of recent years.
After registering almost 30 try assists already in 2022, NRL interest has come in thick and fast for the maverick fullback.
Hull FC head coach Brett Hodgson has previously revealed that NRL sides were interested in bringing Connor to Australia.
“Yes I am aware (that NRL clubs are interested in Connor) and I’m not surprised – he’s a talent,” Hodgson told theĀ Yorkshire Post.
“But there’s nothing concrete in that at this stage. Should that change then we’ll have a chat about that.
“It’s speculation more than anything at the moment. If or when that comes, we’ll discuss what the options are.”
Having been cut adrift from Shaun Wane’s England squad in 2023, Connor is doing everything right to get his name back into the former Wigan boss’ thinking.
And, he has been backed by former Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves fullback Richie Mathers for a big move to the NRL.
After being asked whether or not Connor would make it in the NRL, Mathers tweeted: “Yes mate I’d say so bro, he’s special. In an NRL system, with an NRL pre-season in him, he’d kill it.”

With Canberra Raiders thought to be one of a number of NRL clubs chasing his signature, Connor arguably faces the greatest decision of his career – does he stay in Super League or does he make the trip like fellow Englishmen before him like Luke Thompson and George Williams?
There does, however, appear to be murmurings that Connor will be staying at the MKM Stadium with a move for Bevan French thought to be wide of the mark as clubs attempt to build improved squads for the future. And, theĀ Canberra Times has distanced the Raiders from making a move for Connor.
If so, it would provide a major boost for the Black and Whites and would undeniably ensure that Hull will be a better team in 2023.
