Hull FC vs Wigan Warriors: Team news, match preview and score prediction

After a defeat last week, Wigan will want to get back on track a week ahead of their Challenge Cup Final showdown with Huddersfield Giants at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium.

Meanwhile, Hull FC will want to bounce back after a disappointing loss to St Helens in which they would have liked to have tested the Champions a touch more.

Can they catch the sec0nd place Warriors out here to make amends as Matt Peet’s side dream of Challenge Cup glory.

Team News

Hull FC have welcomed back Kane Evans and Cameron Scott who both return from injury to replace Brad Fash and Jacob Hookem with Fash missing out through concussion protocols.

The Warriors have named a squad much more like the one they named in their semi-final win over St Helens rather than the well rested squad named for the loss to Huddersfield last week. Matty Nicholson is included after his two tries last week with Kaide Ellis suspended.

Match Preview – Key Battles

Jake Connor vs Jai Field: After a deserved rest, the lightning quick Jai Field will meet Jake Connor in a battle between two of the most dangerous and exciting players in Super League for very different reasons with Connor creating opportunities whilst Field uses his speed to devastate teams by taking the opportunities created by others.

Chris Satae vs Brad Singleton: Two top props who are perhaps not given the credit they deserve. Both will look to give their side a solid platform in the middle of the pitch by getting on top of their opposite number. Expect fireworks.

Where the game will be won and lost:

Wigan were uncharacteristically sloppy last week. When they built into the game against Huddersfield they scored points so they need to cut out the errors and get their dangerous players into space to cause Hull FC problems. But to do that will require focus which is easier said than done with a final on the horizon.

Score Prediction: Hull FC 14-26 Wigan Warriors
