Hull FC v Wigan Warriors team news as Black and Whites forced into four changes

- 14/02/2025 - Rugby League - Betfred Super League Round 1 - Catalans Dragons v Hull FC - Stade Gilbert Brutus, Perpignan, France - Hull FC Head Coach John Cartwright

John Cartwright has been forced into making four changes to his Hull FC squad to take on Wigan Warriors on Friday night. The Black and Whites got off to a winning start last week at Catalans Dragons, but it seems the result came at a price.

Jed Cartwright limped out of the clash with a hamstring problem and he misses the club’s first home game of the season. Amir Bourouh picked up a head knock, too, and will miss the game in accordance with concussion protocols.

Zak Hardaker will sit out of the clash against his former side with a groin injury, though, while Ryan Westerman has also dropped out. Hull have been boosted by Jack Ashworth’s availability after undergoing a HIA in Perpignan, while Ed Chamberlain makes his return after missing round one through injury.

Will Gardiner, Will Kirby and Will Hutchinson also come into the fold for the Black and Whites and will be available should Cartwright look their way.

Matt Peet, on the other hand, has named an unchanged Wigan squad following their opening round defeat to Leigh Leopards. The head coach has named Abbas Miski in the squad and he’ll be hoping the winger is fit to play at the MKM Stadium after missing round one.
