Huddersfield Giants have confirmed that Niall Evalds will miss the remainder of the season. The full-back’s spell with Huddersfield has been torrid to say the least, with injuries restricting him to just two appearances for the Giants since making the move from Hull KR in March.
He fractured his foot on his debut for the club and spent four months on the sidelines before featuring again last week against Wakefield Trinity. However, Evalds picked up another injury in that game and the club have confirmed that he has played his last game of the 2025 season as a result.
He becomes the third Huddersfield player ruled out for the remainder of the campaign, with Adam Clune and Sam Hewitt also seeing their season coming to a premature end.
As such, he drops out of the fold for Huddersfield this week ahead of the clash with Hull FC, with Fenton Rogers stepped back into the fray.
While Huddersfield are counting the cost of further injuries, Hull are able to welcome two key men back into the fold. Amir Bourouh has recovered from his head knock and comes into the mix once again and he’s joined by Liam Watts who will be looking to make his second appearance of the season for the Black and Whites.
Watts made his second debut for the club in March against Wakefield, but a couple of injuries have seen him sidelined ever since. Speaking on Wednesday afternoon, assistant coach Andy Last admitted Watts still had to get through another session in order to be included in the matchday side, but the hope is he will be passed fit to play.

Sam Eseh is back in after being ineligible to play against his parent club Wigan last time out, while Will Gardiner is the fourth man to step back into the fray. There will be at least one change to the starting XIII, it seems, with Brad Fash suffering an injury earlier this week in training.
Ryan Westerman, Cobie Wainhouse and Will Kirby are the other three to make way for John Cartwright.
