Hull FC will be looking to claim their third straight Super League win when they host Castleford Tigers on Friday night. The Black and Whites have seen off Leigh Leopards and Catalans Dragons comfortably in their last two games and after a week away from Super League, they’ll be keen to build on that this week.
Castleford on the other hand are still struggling at the bottom end of the table but they appear to be improving. They’ve won two of their last five in the league and they arrive in Hull off the back of an encouraging showing versus Challenge Cup finalists Warrington Wolves.
They’d dearly love to claim their fourth win of the year against Hull then but they’ll be missing full-back Tex Hoy through injury.
Hull are without their own full-back in Will Pryce, too, with the former Newcastle Knights man set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Here’s how we think both sides will line up at the MKM Stadium.
We’ll start with Hull, with John Cartwright facing what looks like a fairly easy decision in the back line. With Pryce out, it’s a fair guess to say that Jordan Rapana moves back to start at full-back, with Tom Briscoe keeping his spot at centre.
Rapana was picked in the halves last time out but with Cade Cust fit again after his hip injury, the change is a simple one. John Asiata is still missing and that means Yusuf Aydin can expect to play at 13 once more.
It’s seems relatively safe to say that the bench spots will remain unchanged as well, with Sam Eseh and Jack Ashworth showing some strong form in particular.
Zac Cini looks set to be the man to start at one for Castleford Tigers with the Australian having plenty of experience of playing at full-back in the past, albeit most of that has come in the New South Wales Cup.
That opens the door for Sam Wood to return to the fold, with Louis Senior keeping his spot at centre, too. Tom Amone is fit again following the head knock he picked up against Leeds Rhinos and he’ll probably start with Joe Westerman set to come in to start in some capacity too.
Dan Okoro may have to make do with a bench spot and the same can be said for Liam Horne.
