Two teams in the hunt for play-off rugby take centre stage on Thursday night in what should be one of the games of the weekend.
Hull FC come into the contest having won arguably the game of the season against rivals Hull KR. A Marc Sneyd drop goal proved the difference and he could again be called upon to edge his side to victory this week especially when you consider the form of the Tigers at present..
Speaking of the Tigers, they’ve won the last three defeating Super League’s two most successful clubs in Leeds and St Helens before recording a 16th consecutive derby win over Wakefield. With momentum on their side, they’ll believe they can make the play-offs.
The game kicks off at 19:45 and can be seen live on Sky Sports Arena.
Hull FC
For the Black and Whites it’s a case of two in and two out. Joe Cator and Josh Reynolds both suffered serious injuries in the derby win and unsurprisingly drop out but Hull do welcome back star prop Chris Satae as well as Mahe Fonua. Both Josh Griffin and Masi Matongo both remain unavailable through injury.
21-man squad: 1 Jake Connor, 2 Bureta Faraimo, 3 Carlos Tuimavave, 5 Mahe Fonua, 7 Marc Sneyd, 8 Scott Taylor, 9 Danny Houghton, 10 Chris Satae, 11 Andre Savelio, 12 Manu Ma’u, 13 Ligi Sao, 14 Jordan Johnstone, 16 Jordan Lane, 17 Brad Fash, 19 Ben McNamara, 20 Jack Brown, 21 Adam Swift, 22 Josh Bowden, 23 Connor Wynne, 24 Cameron Scott, 29 Jamie Shaul.
Castleford Tigers
After struggling with injuries and self-isolation all season, the Tigers finally seem to have a level of stability and continuity where their playing roster is concerned and that is reflected in their squad this week. Daryl Powell has named an unchanged squad from the Wakefield win and that could translate into an unchanged 17 as well.
