Hull FC to lose star amid ‘set to sign’ update

Hull FC Director of Rugby Richie Myler.

Hull FC started the 2025 Super League season with an air of optimism but a few cracks are already starting to appear.

The Black and Whites surprised everyone by comfortably defeating Catalans Dragons in France to begin the campaign in style.

But injuries to the likes of Zak Hardaker were suffered before a humbling loss at home to Wigan Warriors this past week brought with it more issues.

Ligi Sao suffered a season-ending knee problem which has led to a dash into the transfer market.

But Hull have now also had to endure losing one of their key starting players, according to a latest transfer report from Hull Live.

Jordan Lane is ‘set to sign’ for Castleford Tigers on a ‘huge’ deal from the 2026 season onwards.

The agreement is said to be a four-year deal, leaving Hull FC with the prospect of losing one of their most experienced academy graduates.

Lane is out of contract at the end of the season and had been offered a deal by Hull.

Former Hull man Danny Wilson is the key recruitment figure at Castleford and will have been crucial in convincing 27-year-old Lane about the project at Castleford.
