Hull FC star Jake Connor’s incredible form continues after being overlooked for England squad

Jake Connor is undoubtedly one of the most talented fullbacks in Super League.

With an incredible skillset, telepathic knowledge of plays and the ability to create something out of nothing, Connor has taken 2022 by storm.

In fact, his form has been so good that he has been involved in 19 direct try involvements in six games with another two tries and two assists on Saturday in Hull’s demolition of Sheffield Eagles in the Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals.

In doing so, Connor has highlighted just how incredible he is to this Hull outfit – what a player!

That makes it even more surprising, therefore, that he wasn’t included in Shaun Wane’s 30-man England squad that was announced earlier this month.

Wane himself spoke about why he was left out: “I’ve spoken to Jake with great honesty and detail on what I want to see,” Wane said.

“If I see that, he’ll come into the England team.

“He’s a great talent, no doubt about that, but I want to see certain things.

“I’ve been very honest with Jake and told him clearly what I want.”

“I can see him possibly playing against the All Stars in June if he does what I need him to do.

“He was great last week (against Salford), no question about that, but I want him to be great every week.

“I want him to be great against St Helens, when he’s really under the pump, and he’s got the capabilities to do that.”
