Hull FC have announced the capture of star half-back Jake Arthur ahead of the 2026 Super League season.
The Newcastle Knights man has penned a two-year deal with the Black and Whites and that ensures he will be with Hull until the end of the 2027 season at least. And, the 22-year-old represents the final piece of John Cartwright’s spine for next season, slotting in alongside Aidan Sezer in the halves.
Arthur will become the club’s 10th overseas player heading into next season and unless something changes, the Black and Whites have now filled their quota for the 2026 campaign.
The stand-off joins the club having spent the last five seasons in and around the first grade picture in the NRL. Starting his career at Parramatta Eels under current Leeds Rhinos head coach Brad Arthur, who is also his father, the youngster made his debut in 2021 and went on to make 22 appearances for the Eels.
He joined Manly Sea Eagles in 2023 but managed to make just seven outings for the Northern Beaches outfit before joining the Knights earlier on this year. He has made three appearances for the NRL strugglers this month and he’s been named in the side to take on Cronulla Sharks this week.
Ultimately, though, he’ll make the move to Super League at the end of the campaign as he bids to find some traction and establish himself in the senior game.

“I’m really excited. It’s a really great opportunity for me to come over to England and grow my footy game,” Arthur told the club after joining.
“Also, I’m really looking forward to linking up with the team. I’ve watched quite a lot of Hull FC this year and I really like the look of the team and how they play, so I’m excited to get in and amongst it.
“Hull play a real tough brand of footy. I’ll be looking to come in and try and take a bit of the pressure off Aidan [Sezer] and steer the team around the park.
“I can’t wait to come over and play in front of the crowds. You can hear how loud the fans are just watching on the TV – to play in front of it will be a crazy experience.
“I’ve got a few mates who have already been to England to play in Super League and they say that the Hull fans are the loudest, so I can’t wait to get over there and represent the club in the best way I possibly can.”
Gareth Ellis, Hull’s director of rugby, added: “John Cartwright is excited by the signing of Jake Arthur. He’s an excellent judge of a good Rugby League player, so this is a piece of business we can be very happy with.
“Jake is a young, hungry player, who has all of the attributes and traits to make a great Super League player.
“We identified Jake a while ago and we’re thrilled to be able to get the deal over the line. We’re looking forward to him arriving in Hull so he can get started with us in preparation for the 2026 season.”
