Hull FC seemingly confirm the inclusion of three debutants in today’s line up

Hull FC had a fairly active off-season when it came to the transfer market.

They surprised many when they let Marc Sneyd return to Salford before bringing in former Man of Steel Luke Gale from Leeds Rhinos to refresh their spine.

Speaking of the spine, they signed hooker Joe Lovodua from down under as well as Kane Evans from the NRL to add depth to their prop ranks.

Brett Hodgson also chose to take his backs in a new direction letting go of the hard hitting Mahe Fonua and Bureta Faraimo both of whom joined former coach Lee Radford at Castleford. Instead, Hodgson signed the elusive Darnell McIntosh from Huddersfield.

Three of these new signings were included in Brett Hodgson’s first 21-man squad of the season as they start the campaign against the side who beat them 44-12 in the final round of last season, Wakefield Trinity.

It now seems those three signings have been confirmed as featuring in the game with Hull FC posting images of Hull legends Kirk Yeaman and Lee Crooks presenting them with their shirts ahead of today’s game.

It’s likely Luke Gale will start at seven whilst McIntosh will figure on the right wing with Adam Swift remaining on the left flank. Meanwhile, Joe Lovodua will start the game on the bench and he could very well replace Hull legend Danny Houghton bringing on explosivity around the ruck.

Kane Evans of course won’t figure after picking up a serve suspension down under meaning he’ll miss the opening three rounds of the season.

The big question in terms of Hull’s line up will likely be whether Jake Connor features after breaking his hand against Leeds just two weeks ago. If not, Jamie Shaul will likely play instead.
