Hull FC can confirm that Josh Reynolds has left the club with immediate effect.
Both parties had mutually agreed that the Australian will not be staying with the club for the 2023 Betfred Super League season.
As a result of that agreement, the club has further agreed with the player that he can depart immediately to open up pathways for future talent in the squad.
Since arriving at the MKM Stadium in 2021, Reynolds made 25 appearances for Hull, scoring seven tries.
The Hull club has thanked Reynolds for his efforts, whilst wishing him luck for the future.
The Daily Mail had reported yesterday that Hull FC halfback Josh Reynolds wanted to stay in the UK and presumably end his career in Super League.
However, there have been conflicting reports in the Australian press which suggest that he is heading back home to Australia.
In Fox Sports’ ‘transfer whispers’, Reynolds was headlined as saying ‘Reynolds Returns Home.’
For Hull FC, they haven’t hit the heights expected of them in the Super League era, but under head coach Brett Hodgson, they look to be building something different at the MKM Stadium.
Reynolds joined the Black and Whites from NRL side Wests Tigers ahead of the 2021 season and started that year like a house on fire.
Unfortunately, a serious injury cut his stellar season short – as did Covid-19 which hit Hull at just the wrong time as they were building form – with Reynolds working hard in the off-season to get himself right.
Due to injuries and suspensions, the outspoken Aussie has once more been in and out of the team as the likes of Joe Lovodua and Ben McNamara impress in the halves.
