Liam Knight says first season in Super League has been one of the most enjoyable in his career so far. The Hull FC prop’s campaign has come to a premature end due to injury and he has taken to social media to look back on the last few months.
After going through pre-season down under without a club, Knight signed with John Cartwright’s Hull in March and it’s fair to say he hasn’t looked back. The forward hit the ground running at the MKM Stadium and earned plaudits for his early showings despite being short of match fitness.
And, he played a key role as Hull launched a play-off push in Super League, with his form and effort through the middle of the field playing an important role.
However, with 19 games under his belt, his season came to an abrupt end at the end of July after suffering a stress fracture in his ankle.
Initially there had been a small amount of hope that he would be able to return to play a part before the end of the season but that optimism was nipped in the bud by Cartwright last week with the Hull boss confirming the prop had undergone surgery on the issue.
And, after going under the knife, Knight took to Instagram to reflect on his first campaign in East Yorkshire.
“Season 2025 done and dusted for me due to injury,” he wrote. “Never the way you want to finish a season but that’s part of the game unfortunately.
“One of my most enjoyable seasons on the field so far. Thank you to everyone who played a role and helped make the transition across to England enjoyable. Love you all.

Knight has penned a one-year extension with Hull FC but his future beyond that remains up in the air, with the prop’s partner based down under still.
