Hull FC have confirmed that Connor Wynne has joined their dual-registration partners Newcastle Thunder on loan.
The centre follows Black & White youngsters Denive Balmforth, Matty Laidlaw and Nick Staveley who are already with the Betfred Championship club in the North East as part of the partnership.
The 22-year old is expected to feature for Chris Thorman’s side in this weekend’s home clash against London Broncos.
The Black & Whites announced the Thunder as their new dual-registration partners for the 2023 season, with the agreement allowing the movement of players between the clubs to provide extra playing opportunities throughout the year, helping nurture the best young talents for both sides.
The 22-year-old has featured 36 times for the Super League since making his debut in 2019 against the Salford Red Devils.
The centre who is equally at home on the wings or at fullback has also enjoyed loan spells at Doncaster RLFC as well as fellow Betfred Championship club York City Knights.
A regular feature for the Black and Whites during 2022, Wynne’s stand out performance came against Toulouse Olympique XIII, where he scored a hat-trick in their 48-12 win.
Hull FC will be hoping to get more bodies back in the mix in the coming weeks after losing the likes of centres Carlos Tuimavave – who was appointed as skipper at the start of the season – as well as new signing from Leeds Rhinos Lika Sutcliffe after he made an impressive start to his Hull FC career even scoring against the Rhinos.
Ben McNamara was also unavailable for their defeat to Salford Red Devils, which saw Paul Rowley’s men thrash the Black and Whites 60-14, which exacerbated the absence of star signing from Castleford Tigers Jake Trueman.
Hull FC play an out of sorts St Helens with the Champions looking for a reaction after back to back defeats.
