Hull FC man delivers injury update after surgery

A Hull FC player has confirmed that they are set to begin their rehab process after undergoing surgery.

Forward Oliver Holmes has taken to social media to share a video of himself that features images of him in a hospital gown and with a heavily strapped knee.

Holmes has yet to make his debut for the Black and Whites on account of a knee injury but it seems that he will be waiting a little bit longer based on the update he shared.

The video, posted on Tik Tok, also shows Holmes struggling to walk up a flight of stairs with the caption confirming that he has had surgery.

Holmes posted: “Welcome to the dark side of being a pro player in sport! Surgery all done and dusted! Rehab starts now! Been here before, nothing new so time push hard and get after it!”

The exact time of lay off is unknown but he did reassure a number of fans that it would ‘hopefully’ not be too long. One fan even commented ‘As Long as you’re fit for the playoffs’, to which Holmes responded: “Hopefully be back way before then.”

Holmes signed for Hull FC from Leigh in the off-season, following Ed Chamberlain and joining the likes of Zak Hardaker and John Asiata in making the switch.

The Black and Whites played out a hard-fought draw with Leigh on Thursday night with the game finishing 22-22 after golden point and Holmes conceded to one fan in the comments that he “would have given anything to play”.

Holmes isn’t the only injured Hull FC player at the moment with the club having had a bad share of luck when it has come to injuries so far.

Ligi Sao is out for the season with a knee injury after being stretchered off in Round Two whilst Zak Hardaker (groin), Davy Litten (MCL), Jack Charles (ankle) and Matty Laidlaw (ACL) are also out at the moment.
