Hull FC are nervously waiting for clarity regarding the injuries Will Pryce and Joe Batchelor picked up on Saturday night.

The Black and Whites were well beaten by Wigan Warriors on Saturday evening and but the loss came with the added blow of injuries, too, as Pryce and Batchelor picked up issues.

Pryce was forced to leave the field of play with what looked like a knee injury after landing awkwardly in a tackle, while Batchelor has a calf and shoulder issue. Both men have been sent for scans, but the club still don’t know the full extent of their injuries.

“There’s nothing to report yet,” Cartwright told the press on Monday afternoon. “We had scans done today for Will Pryce and Joe Batchelor, but until we get the results back we don’t know. They’ll be in doubt for this weekend, put it this way.

“We’d only be guessing at this stage so until we get the results of the scan, there’s no point worrying about things we don’t know about.”

The head coach was able to confirm that Zak Hardaker should be fit enough to be involved on Friday night, when Hull FC take on York Knights at the MKM Stadium and that certainly comes as a boost.

John Asiata might well be involved too, Cartwright has confirmed, but return dates for Jake Arthur and James Bell remain up in the air at present.

“We’re going to train tomorrow (Tuesday),” Cartwright added. “John Asiata will be back in training. We’ll assess how he gets through.

“Jake Arthur is still in a bit of doubt with his hamstring strain.

“James Bell is probably another week or to away as well, but on the plus Zak Hardaker should be okay.”
