Hull FC given important stadium update from new football club owner

Hull City’s new ownership will include the Stadium Management Company that works with Hull FC.

That’s according to the Hull Daily Mail which has revealed that Acun Ilicali’s takeover of the football club will include the SMC who are in charge of maintenance of the MKM Stadium.

Both City and FC have shared the currently-named MKM Stadium since 2002, but trouble arose when the Allam family took over the football club in 2010.

The duo’s groundshare agreement has often left FC frustrated, with chairman Adam Pearson more recently outlining the potential for the Black and Whites to move to an entirely new home after disagreements with the Stadium Management Company – who run the every day maintenance of the ground.

No doubt, Pearson and FC will be wanting to get the issue sorted before the new season kicks off in February 2022 and, later down the line, before the 25-year lease on the MKM Stadium has ended in 2027.

Ilicali, meanwhile, documented his trial and tribulations in trying to secure the future of Hull City – having first landed in Humberside back in May of this year.

Ilicali is a Turkish businessman who made his millions in the television and media industry – and, more importantly, has been involved with football before with Dutch side Fortuna Sittard in which he invested last year.
