It’s been a much better start than Hull FC could’ve ever imagined but their fans all agree on their chances of silverware in 2025.
Currently, the Black and Whites sit second in the Super League table after six rounds and face a quarter-final Challenge Cup tie against local rivals Hull KR on Saturday afternoon.
With the announcement of Will Pryce’s signing for the club and his potential to make his debut in the Cup derby, those at the club will agree that whilst it’s been a great start to the season so far, they’re not getting too ahead of themselves just yet.
However, fans of the club are excited to see the progress made on and off the field and are looking forward to seeing Pryce integrate into the side.
Here’s the best of the Hull FC fans’ reactions from our social media channels.
Hull FC fans agree on their chances of silverware in 2025
Asked on the club’s chances of silverware given that they’ve progressed to the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup and they sit second in Super League, fans have had their say.
Joe Addison-Doy: As a Hull fan, it’s far too early to expect that. I think we are ahead of where we would expect to be, I hope after this season we will look like the real deal.
Give Cartwright time and he definitely will bring success back to Hull.
Andrew Bruce: No, we are higher in the league than our performances justify. Our points difference is clearly a better representation of where we are. However, we have certainly developed a stronger defence and adding the likes of Pryce will certainly help our attack for the future.
Mark Chatwin: No. We’ve a long way to go and only a fool would get carried away after 6 games. A lot of hard work on and off the field still to go but I would say we are ahead of where we expected to be. We’ve got a big month coming up and if we can come away with a Cup win and 2 points from 3 league games against Wire, Rovers and Wigan, we will have done well. Pryce gives us a bit more flair in attack and he is rapid as shown when at Huddersfield. I’d still be happy with a top 6 finish and if we can make the CC Final, that would be a bonus but not a priority.
Wayne Holiday: The foundations are being put into place. The passion from the hierarchy is evident, no need to get carried away.
Lee Walker: No is the easy answer, with that being said, it doesn’t mean we can’t, especially the Challenge Cup. It’s a Cup game and anything can happen. With Super League, it’s highly unlikely I’d say, almost impossible, but they’re making big strides on and off the field and you just never know. One thing’s for sure, they’ll be getting huge support and rightly so from the Black & White army to help them go as far as possible in both.
Phillip Freeman: No, as an FC I’m ecstatic at where we are. We’re only 6 games in, it can all change over a couple of games. Do I fancy us to beat KR? No. Do I have faith? Yes but let’s face facts, KR are the best team they have ever been in history and as someone from Hull, I’m happy for them. It’s about time they had some success, they have been worse than us in the past but any team can bounce back and they’re proof of that!
Glen Pattison: Not yet, it’s all about building another season or two and I think we will be back by pushing at the sharp end of the league.
John Clucas: As an FC fan, I think it will take another 2 years before we start winning trophies but I hope that I’m wrong and we win the Challenge Cup this year.
