Hull FC will be without forward Jeremiah Mata’utia for this week’s trip to York Knights after returning to parent club Leeds Rhinos.
Mata’utia has made nine appearances for the Black and Whites, and has been ever-present for the club since joining in April.
In that time, he has started four games and was a substitute in the other five, and it’s fair to say he significantly bolstered the FC pack at a time when they needed it most.
Mata’utia, who has only made one appearance in Super League with Leeds, joined the West Hull club initially on a month’s loan, but the health of Leeds’ squad meant that he could stay at the MKM Stadium longer than originally planned, something that has worked out well for both player and the two clubs.
However, he will now depart FC to return to Headingley, meaning he is now in contention to face Catalans Dragons in Perpignan this weekend.
The move comes as a blow for Andy Last’s side, who are already without the likes of Ligi Sao, Sam Lisone, John Asiata and Connor Bailey due to long-term injuries.
Yusuf Aydin will be eligible for selection this week after completing his six-match ban for a tip tackle in the defeat to Bradford Bulls.

Hull FC can confirm that Jeremiah Mata’utia has returned to Leeds Rhinos following the end of his loan spell with the club.
