Hull FC continue to overhaul operations at the club with four new staff members confirmed, including two who have joined directly from cross-city rivals Hull KR.
It’s not the first wave of Hull FC backroom staff recruitment with the club previously announcing a new head of performance, head physiotherapist and high performance specialist earlier in September.
They’ve now confirmed the appointment of a new performance coach, a new head of strength and conditioning, a new first-team kit and equipment manager, as well as a first-team manager and welfare lead.
Sue Thompson is the lady to be appointed as the first-team manager and welfare lead and she joins after leaving Hull KR after over 15 years of service, most recently holding the role as rugby operations co-ordinator.
Thompson was a pivotal cog in off-field matters at Craven Park but she’s now swapped for the west side of the city to oversee day-to-day operations and welfare matters.
She’s one of two who join from Hull KR, with Harry Coyle being the other as he joined the club as a performance coach having previously worked at Rovers in a similar role.
Kieran Smith rejoins Hull FC having previously worked as the head of the academy’s physical performance but he now takes on the role as head of strength and conditioning.
Ash Simpson has also been confirmed as the club’s first-team kit and equipment manager.
All four appointments follow on from the appointment of Steve McNamara as head coach, as well as the announcement of Jimmy McDaniel as Head of Performance, Dave Ferguson as Head Physiotherapist, and Nathan Mill as High Performance Specialist.
