Hull FC have confirmed they have likely lost a key man for the remainder of the Super League season through injury.
The Black and Whites came up with the result of their season at the weekend with a stunning 24-22 victory over table-toppers Wigan Warriors, despite a late fightback from the away side.
However, they’ll now be without one of the try-scorers from that game for a significnt period of time, as confirmed by head coach Simon Grix.
Grix said, via BBC Humberside: “Bit of a shock really. I’m really disappointed for Davy because he’s got his crack and he’s gone well.
“It wasn’t long into the game at the weekend, he came out of a tackle, he ran back a little bit ginger.
“Got through the game, obviously scored a lovely try after that, and had a hand in a lot of other good stuff as well, so no concerns after the game.
“It’s just when he’s come in in the morning, they do whatever tests they need to do, and his knee was a little bit unstable.”

Grix then went on to detail the extent of the injury, saying: “Straight for a scan, and it looks like he’ll do very well if we see him again this year unfortunately.
“MCL, one of the main stabilisers of your knee. No risks.
“He felt fine to be fair, going for the scan to him was a bit over the top but obviously the test that they did indicated that there was something going on and they were proven right, so fair play to the medical staff for spotting it.
“Disappointing for us, we haven’t got a massive squad have we?
“I’m also really disappointed for Davy because he’s been waiting patiently.”
He likely won’t, however, need surgery, Grix said.
Litten himself said via Twitter: “Gutted is an understatement💔 but can’t wait to get the body back right for what’s an exciting time to be at the club 🙌🏻”.
