Hull FC have confirmed the list of players who will depart the club at the end of the 2024 season with 10 men set to depart the Black and Whites and a further four loanees to leave as well.
The 14 exits will take the 2024 season tally of players to depart to 23 after nine mid-season departures, including the likes of Tex Hoy, Franklin Pele, Jayden Okunbor and Nu Brown.
It’s been a torrid 2024 season for Hull FC and it could yet worsen as they’ve now dropped into 12th place in Super League, something that they will aim to avoid by putting in a strong performance against Catalans Dragons in Round 27.
Defeat would mean that the Black and Whites would record their worst-ever win percentage for a league and cup campaign in their 159-year history.
The club have won just three games all season and will be eagerly looking forward to the 2025 campaign in order to put 2024 behind them. They’ll also have newly-appointed head coach John Cartwright at the helm then and the Australian will have a big task on his hands.
Hull FC confirm exit of ten players
Many of the players that Hull FC have confirmed as leaving had been announced previously with current and former captains Danny Houghton and Carlos Tuimavave among those on that list.
Houghton retires after 18 years with the club whilst Tuimavave leaves as the fourth-highest overseas appearance maker after his announcement last week.
Half-back Jake Trueman has secured a deal with Wakefield Trinity whilst other first-team squad members on their way out include Liam Sutcliffe, Mitieli Vulikijapani and Charlie Severs.
For Severs, he has decided to take time away from the sport after consecutive shoulder injuries with the youngster’s future previously noted to have been in doubt by Simon Grix.
Young squad members Sully Medforth, Lennon Bursell, Jeylan Hodgson, and Macca Harman will also depart the club.
Loanees Tiaki Chan, King Vuniyayawa, Leon Ruan and Sam Eseh will all return to their parent clubs.
The club confirmed all departures in a statement in which they wished all players well, whilst also referencing the nine players who had left during the season.
