Hull FC boss Brett Hodgson gives concerning news on Jake Connor

Hull FC went down 19-18 to Wakefield Trinity this afternoon after letting an 18-6 lead slip in the last 12 minutes of the game.

The Black and Whites were hindered by a serious-looking injury to Hull fullback Jake Connor, who limped off early in the second-half after falling awkwardly in a tackle with Wakefield’s Jacob Miller.

For Hull head coach Brett Hodgson, it was a turning point in the game as he gave a concerning update on the England hopeful.

“It looks like medial but we don’t know the extent of it – we will get the scans during the week,” Hodgson said after the game.

“I think it was the momentum swinger, and we lost out way a little bit there but we still had enough chances to shut them down.”

Hodgson also believes that he has the right men in the locker to replace Connor if necessary.

“I’m concerned about the performance after he went off but long-term no. We will have a plan if we need to cover him for an extended period of time.

“We still had more than enough chances to manage those last 25 minutes without him.”

Hull face Catalans Dragons in the south of France next weekend as the Black and Whites aim to get back on the horse after a bitter disappointment here.
