Hull FC boss Brett Hodgson eyes up new signings

It’s fair to say that Hull FC have been somewhat of a disappointment in 2021.

After a superb start to the Super League season, the Airlie Birds have found themselves outside of the top six play-offs, despite playing inside them for most of the year.

And, for head coach Brett Hodgson that has signalled that the club need more firepower.

“We’re looking at a number of options,” Hodgson said.

“None that I’m going to go into at the moment but we are looking at different options to try and freshen up the squad.”

“We’re having conversations all the time about that and this is what I’ve said all year.

“We’ve had conversations ongoing about who we can bring in and who the right fit is.

“Obviously all our supporters would like to have names out there already but we’re going to be patient on that and get the right people to come in to fix the right areas that we need to fix.”

Hodgson also pointed to the fact that patience will be the best way forward.

“We’re constantly speaking to managers both here and in Australia about bringing in someone of quality and we’ll continue to do that, but it’s not a race.

“I know that other teams are announcing people but we want the right person to come in and we’ll keep working towards that.”
