A number of Super League players will be sweating today’s disciplinary verdict as they ready themselves for round three.
The last few days have been great for Super League, it’s fair to say, with Hull KR winning the World Club Challenge and the newly promoted teams continuing to make a splash.
The Robins saw off Brisbane Broncos on Thursday night at the MKM Stadium, with Willie Peters’ side surviving a late push from the NRL side to claim world champion status after winning the treble last season.
Bradford Bulls continued to impress as they beat Catalans Dragons in front of a strong crowd at Odsal, while Toulouse Olympique claimed their second win of the season as they beat Castleford Tigers in France.
In fact, Toulouse are just one of two teams with four points to their name after the opening couple of weeks, with Wigan Warriors, who beat Hull FC convincingly on Saturday night, being the other.
Leeds Rhinos and St Helens picked up wins on Friday night as the Saints edged out Leigh Leopards, while Leeds thumped York Knights. Wakefield Trinity rounded off the weekend by seeing off Huddersfield Giants at the Accu Stadium.
Some clubs have disciplinary concerns, though, and they’ll be waiting patiently to hear this afternoon’s verdict.
Super League players sweating disciplinary
Hull FC man Liam Knight will be worried about what comes back this afternoon. The prop was placed on report early in the contest against Wigan Warriors for a shot on Kaide Ellis and that came before he was sent to the sin bin for a tip tackle on Sam Walters.
The latter incident followed a moment in which the Australian lost his cool with the referee, giving away a penalty while in possession.
Amir Bourouh might be a little nervous, too, following his high tackle on Junior Nsemba.

Nsemba might find himself in trouble, as well, with his challenge appearing to cause an injury to Will Pryce.
Adam Keighran is another disciplinary concern to emerge from that game at the Brick Community Stadium. The centre was sin binned late in the game after making shoulder to head contact with Pryce.
Castleford Tigers’ Chris Atkin was the only other player sin binned this week after catching Tyler Dupree in the face with an elbow, although it did seem accidental.
