One Hull FC youngster has been handed a hefty suspension by the disciplinary panel, after being caught punching in a recent reserve-grade game.
FC lost out 52-30 t0 the Leopards on Saturday, despite being 22-10 up at the half-time break.
To make matters worse, as a result of an incident in that tie, young winger Roman Dawson will miss the next five matches after receiving a Grade F charge for ‘punching – sustained and/or violent’.
Dawson has only recently made his return from a lengthy knee injury that ruled him out for most of 2024 and all of 2025. However, he will be sidelined for the forseeable, with his next eligible game set to be in early July.
In the same game, Leigh Leopards winger Sam Hill, who was on loan from Salford RLFC in this game, was given the same punishment, and he too will be out for the next five games.
FC copped another charge in that game, with prop Joe Phillips, who has often found game time at Goole Vikings this year, hit with a Grade B head contact charge and given three penalty points.
After being in line to make his Super League debut last week against Leigh, he dropped out from the initial 21, but luckily for him a lack of suspension means he won’t have to wait any longer than needed to have another chance of making that first appearance.
