The charges and suspensions imposed on Brad Fash of Hull FC, and Jez Litten of Hull KR, by Tuesday’s meeting of the Match Review Panel were both upheld by the Operational Rules Tribunal this evening.
Fash had been charged with Grade B Dangerous Contact in the Betfred Super League fixture at Salford on August 25, and his challenge against the grading was rejected – although it was not found frivolous. He is therefore suspended for two matches and fined £500.
Litten had been charged with a Grade C Dangerous Lift in the Betfred Super League fixture at Wakefield, also on August 25. His challenge against the grading was also rejected, but not found frivolous. He has also been suspended for two matches and fined £500.
It means that both Litten and Fash will be out for the rest of the season as the Hull derby gets into full swing at the weekend.
Following the latest round of Betfred Super League fixtures, the Match Review Panel issued the following sanctions for games held on Sunday and Monday:
Korbin Sims (Hull KR) – Grade C Contact with Match Official – 3 Match Penalty Notice
Romain Navarette (Toulouse Olympique) – Grade C Head Butt – 2 Match Penalty Notice
Liam Watts (Castleford Tigers) – Grade B Dangerous Contact – 2 Match Penalty Notice
Dean Whare (Catalans Dragons) – Grade B Shoulder Charge – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Jack Ormondroyd (Salford Red Devils) – Grade A Dangerous Contact – 0 Match Penalty Notice
The following player was handed a caution:
Ethan Havard (Wigan Warriors) – Dangerous Throw
The ban handed to Korbin Sims ended his season as a KR player with the forward retiring at the end of the year whilst Romain Navarrete will not play another Super League game for Toulouse in Super League.
Dean Whare will be back for the play-offs whilst Liam Watts could have played his last game in 2022.
