Huge Super League signing finally set for debut this week

For both sides involved in Thursday’s Sky Sports game, the international break came at the wrong time.

Hull FC finally ended a seven game losing run by shocking Huddersfield Giants before the league went on a break to allow England to meet France.

Meanwhile, before the international break Wigan looked like the side most likely to dethrone Champions St Helens.

Their form had been sensational defeating the Saints prior to a win over then league leaders Warrington Wolves.

Then their win over Wakefield Trinity last time out saw them move top of the league.

They then had six players star for England three  of which scored in the shape of Harry Smith, Jake Wardle and Ethan Havard.

As these two sides collide this week as the Super League season begins again, the Hull FC’s squad news is now in.

Tony Smith has made two changes to the squad that were named in advance of the clash against the Giants last month, with Jake Trueman coming into the squad for the first time this season, alongside Harvey Barron who is also named.

If Trueman makes his debut, it will be one of the biggest of the season.

The duo are replaced by Andre Savelio and Jack Brown.

Trueman has recovered from an ACL injury sustained last season with Castleford Tigers, and is in line to make his debut with the Airlie Birds.

Tex Hoy (hamstring), Mitieli Vulikijapani (knee), Jamie Shaul (calf) and Charlie Severs (shoulder) remain unavailable through injury.
