Huddersfield Giants have secured the services of Olly Ashall-Bott for the 2022 Season. The full-back has represented Widnes Vikings, North Wales Crusaders, London Broncos and Salford Red Devils before joining the Giants in 2021. He appeared nine times for the Giants in 2021, scoring twice, alongside a loan spell at Wakefield Trinity.
Huddersfield Giants Head Coach, Ian Watson said: “I know Olly really well after spending a couple of seasons with him now and his performances and attitude to being a Super League player have gotten better every week.
“He played a couple of games on loan for me in 2020 but I thought he showed some real promise and maturity here at Huddersfield last year so I’m over the moon that we have been able to keep him involved in our squad.
“He’s only 24 and the injuries he’s had held him back early in his career But in the last two years he’s been really durable apart from picking a small knock up at the start of 2021.
“I thought once he got through that and started to featured regularly for us he was outstanding at the back and gave us an attacking threat and steel in our defensive game.
“I believe signing Ashall-Bott on a new deal will increase the competition for places at full-back & in the outside backs. The best teams have that in their squads and the likes of Ash Golding & Will Pryce are team players who have a fantastic attitude to competition so I’m looking forward to the battle for places in 2022.
Olly-Ashall Bott said: “I’m delighted to have renewed my contract with Huddersfield Giants and thanks to Ian Watson, Richard Thewlis and Graeme Taylor for their work in getting this over the line. I’m enjoying my Rugby at the Giants and working with Ian Watson and the rest of the coaching and playing staff.
“It’s great to be able to continue my career at Huddersfield and be part of this squad that I think can really compete in 2022. I’m looking forward to battling for a place in the first team to play Super League rugby next year in this talented squad.
“I’m just hoping to improve and keep working on my game and working hard in pre-season.”
