Huddersfield v Wigan: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

For the second week in a row Huddersfield do battle with Wigan. Both sides went into last Sunday’s encounter on the back of poor form and despite taking a 12-0 lead, Huddersfield’s winless run continued. As for Wigan, they have a chance to create some real momentum if they can claim back-to-back wins at the Giants’ expense.

It just goes from bad to worse for Huddersfield. In total, the Giants are missing 16 players with four more now on the side lines with Olly Ashall-Bott, Ricky Leutele, Louis Senior and Joe Greenwood all dropping out of the squad. In fact, the Giants are down to just 17 players likely forcing new loan signings Nathaniel Peteru and Nathan Peats to start whilst youngsters Fenton Rogers and Aidan McGowan will be given debuts off the bench. Another youngster in the shape of Will Pryce will likely be given a first start.

Wigan don’t have it easier either. Jackson Hastings’ suspension again leaves Wigan without a fullback so Umyla Hanley will likely be moved there allowing Sam Halsall to come in on the wing after a stint with Newcastle on loan. The Warriors will have extra bite down the middle thanks to the return of impressive duo Ethan Havard and Oliver Partington. Wigan may also have a problem at hooker after Sam Powell received treatment during their win over Huddersfield on Sunday. The Warriors do have youngster Brad O’Neill available and have recalled Amir Bourouh from loan to take a spot in their 21-man squad.
