Huddersfield v Wakefield: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Two West Yorkshire rivals meet in Newcastle today on the back of superb upset victories. The Giants put 40 points on play-off chasing Hull KR whilst Trinity kept up their recent good form with a 20-13 win over Leeds.

On the back of such a good win, the Giants will likely make very few changes to their 17. In fact, I’m tipping Ian Watson to make just one despite the inclusion of Lee Gaskell and Ashton Golding in the squad. Nonetheless, Luke Yates’ injury means Matty English could be promoted to the starting 13 whilst someone like Owen Trout or Oliver Wilson fills in on the bench.

Wakefield are in a similar boat. After their recent run of performances, Willie Poching will make few changes to his 17. That said, the availability of England internationals Reece Lyne and Joe Westerman could prompt Poching to make a couple of changes to his side with Innes Senior and Kyle Wood potentially missing out.
