Huddersfield v Leeds: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Despite the hype surrounding both at the start of the season, Huddersfield and Leeds have struggled so far this campaign. The Giants are yet to record a league win whilst Leeds have just one to their name. The two teams are floundering at the wrong end of the table and both teams will be desperate for a win today to kick start their season.

The Giants have the fitter squad going into the game and could solve the centre problem they faced last week with the return of Leroy Cudjoe and Ricky Leutele although there are doubts over the former. The latter could make only his second appearance for Huddersfield after recovering from a broken hand. Ian Watson has plenty of options in the pack as well with the return of Joe Greenwood. Both the Wardle brothers remain absent however.

So, it’s good news for Huddersfield, but the bad news just keeps coming for Leeds. Cameron Smith joined the list of injured players last week whilst – despite being in the 21 man squad – there’s serious doubts over Alex Sutcliffe’s fitness after he went off injured against Hull KR. Meanwhile, having returned from injury against the Rovers, Richie Myler will be absent again this time through suspension meaning Richard Agar will be praying that Liam Sutcliffe is fit enough to fill in at stand-off however there’s doubts over his fitness too.
