Huddersfield Giants have had a dire season in 2024, and their problems have just got worse with a major injury confirmation.
The Giants currently sit in ninth, with just one win in their last six games.
They sacked head coach Ian Watson last month, with Luke Robinson taking interim charge.
Their most recent win was a shock victory over Paul Rowley’s Salford Red Devils, where they were 16-8 victors, but since then, things have again gone downhill.
They’re without a permanent head coach, crowds are dwindling and it’s hard to see how they can turn their season round.
Tonight, they face a Wigan Warriors side keen to get back on track after successive defeats to Hull FC and Warrington Wolves, which have swung the race for the League Leaders’ Shield wide open.

Now, winger Adam Swift is out for the rest of the 2024 campaign with a groin injury, making things that little bit worse for the Giants.
He announced today on Twitter: “Tuesday was the end of my 2024 season after adductor reconstruction surgery.
“A frustrating last few months but now onwards and upwards to next year.”
He has been out since May already, but now the Giants know their star winger won’t be returning for the remainder of the campaign.
The 31-year-old, in his first season with Huddersfield Giants after signing from Hull FC ahead of this campaign, had managed to score at least one try in every one of his last 11 games before injury.
Against Hull FC, he haunted his former side by scoring four tries, while he also managed a hat-trick against them two weeks later.
In the absence of the two-time Super League champion, the Giants will instead continue to rely on Elliot Wallis and Aidan McGowan to try to haul themselves up the table before the end of the year.
