Huddersfield Giants vs Warrington Wolves team news with two doubts and 12 ruled out

Sam Burgess

Warrington Wolves will be looking to continue building momentum when they travel to face Huddersfield Giants this evening.

Sam Burgess’ side have won four of their last five games in Super League and with the play-offs fast approaching, they’ll be feeling confident about sealing a spot at Old Trafford and potentially more this time around. A win over the Giants would certainly help as they look to remain on their positive trajectory and enter the post-season on the back of some fine form.

Huddersfield, who are down in ninth, have little but pride to play for. However, Luke Robinson will be keen to see his side build on their win over London Broncos as he looks ahead to his first full season in charge of the club.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the team news heading into the clash at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Huddersfield Giants team news

Luke Robinson has been forced into making two changes to his squad this week with Chris Hill and Harry Rushton dropping out of the fold through injury. Jack Billington and Darius Carter have been called up to the squad in their absence but it remains to be seen if they will play.

The club have confirmed that Ashton Golding should return to action in time to represent the Giants in their final game of the season against Castleford Tigers. Adam Milner is still out though and given he will leave the club at the end of the season, it seems he may have played his last game for the club.

Jake Connor (knee), Adam Swift (adductor), Jack Murchie (knee) and Sam Halsall (wrist) all remain sidelined and aren’t expected to play again this season.

Warrington Wolves team news

Warrington have been boosted by the return of Matt Dufty as they prepare for the play-offs and James Harrison has been deemed to be fit enough to be included in the 21-man squad, too. Whether the pair will play remains to be seen, though.

Two men who definitely won’t be involved are Lachlan Fitzgibbon and Paul Vaughan, who are both suspended.

Stefan Ratchford is nearing a return following his facial injury but won’t play this weekend, neither will Connor Wrench who continues his recovery from a knee problem.
