Huddersfield Giants vs Warrington Wolves: Kick-off time, TV channel and predicted line-ups

Many people expected at the start of the season for Warrington to be where Huddersfield are and for Huddersfield to be in Warrington’s position.

Wolves fans shouldn’t be disheartened by this however, it merely shows the effect patience can have at an ambitious club with Ian Watson doing a superb job one Daryl Powell can look to emulate in his second season at the club.

For now the focus will be on beating the Giants who reside in the top four but have suffered back to back defeats as have the Wolves. Who will get back to winning ways this week?

Kick-off time and TV channel

The game kicks off at 15:00.

Sadly there is no live TV coverage but BBC will show highlights on the Super League Show.

Predicted Line-ups

Huddersfield Giants
The Giants are short on players with just a 19-man squad named for today’s fixture. Making matters worse, Leroy Cudjoe has been lost to suspension so he could come into the centres alongside Toby King who will be up against parent club Warrington as well as the man he swapped with Jake Wardle. There is a doubt over Olly Russell too which could see more shuffling in the backs with Will Pryce moving in the halves in this scenario and Ash Golding to fullback. Adam O’Brien could return to the side as well.

Warrington Wolves
The big story for Warrington is the debut of Matt Dufty at fullback. He’ll replace Josh Thewlis at fullback as he looks to take Super League by storm. This will also leave Stefan Ratchford in the halves alongside George Williams. At centre, Jake Wardle will be up against his parent club whilst remarkably Williams, Oliver Holmes and Jason Clark could all make their 250th appearance in the same game. It’ll be interesting to see if Connor Wrench reclaims a spot in the side after scoring tries for fun in the reserves against Newcastle Thunder last week.
