Warrington Wolves started the season in the perfect way sending out a statement to the rest of the league that they could be back to their best in 2023.
They devastated the Grand Finalists from last season Leeds Rhinos in a performance that demonstrated the Wolves’ brilliance down the middle of the field following the arrival of their new recruits.
It also showed the balance of their new halfback pairing of George Williams and Josh Drinkwater.
They looked like a side who could get to the Grand Final which is how Huddersfield Giants are seen going into 2023.
This could be a clash that sheds early light on which side is best placed to push St Helens for the title.
Injury News
Huddersfield Giants
It is highly likely that the Huddersfield Giants will be without star signing Jake Connor.
He is still recovering from a knee injury. Jermaine McGillvary returned from injury during pre-season so will be in the mix to feature.
Warrington Wolves
The Wolves will still be without Josh McGuire after his seven match ban for “unacceptable language.”
Gil Dudson’s broken hand sees him still on the sidelines whilst he will likely be joined by Matty Nicholson after he dislocated his shoulder.
Matty Russell should be back in the mix after missing last week through illness.
How to watch
With no live TV coverage of the game, the only the way to watch the game is to get to the John Smith’s Stadium for the 20:00.
BBC will show highlights on the Super League Show.
