Huddersfield Giants vs Salford Red Devils: Kick-off time, TV channel and predicted line-ups

After taking Salford all the way to the Grand Final in 2019, Ian Watson is hoping to do the same with Huddersfield again from third in the league.

But standing in his way is his former side who, like they did in 2019, are riding the crest of a wave. Under Paul Rowley they’re one of the best teams in league to watch and their attacking style means they can beat anyone on their day, including Watson’s Giants as they did a few weeks ago.

So, will the Red Devils recreate their 2019 fairytale or will the man who penned that story tear out the final page of Salford’s 2022 romp in favour of Huddersfield’s own Grand Final dream.

Kick-off time and TV channel

The game kicks off at 13:00.

TV coverage starts on Sky Sports Arena at 12:30 as well as on Channel 4 at the same time. That said, due to King Charles III’s official ascension today after the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, Channel 4’s coverage of the game may be moved to More4 or E4 depending on the length of their coverage of this historic event.

Predicted Line-ups

Huddersfield Giants
The big news for Huddersfield is the return of halfback Theo Fages which will see Will Pryce miss out on the game with Tui Lolohea at fullback. There’s an interesting call for Watson to make at centre. Leroy Cudjoe surely will play but will he start on the wing or at centre. If on the wing, Toby King will figure at centre whilst Ash Golding will start on the wing should Cudjoe start at centre. Watson will be able to name his strongest forward pack with a terrific bench including Joe Greenwood, Matty English and Owen Trout.

Salford Red Devils
In terms of understanding what team Paul Rowley is likely to pick, you only have to look at the team he picked for essentially a do or die clash against Castleford recently. However, there is no Dan Sarginson so Joe Burgess will return to the wing. James Greenwood may also claim a spot on the bench after returning from injury.
