Huddersfield Giants take on Leeds Rhinos his Friday night at the John Smith’s Stadium with both clubs in a buoyant mood.

The Giants recovered from their Challenge Cup Final disappointment to inflict a seriously impressive win over Catalans Dragons last weekend.

Leeds, too, were in a rampant mood against Warrington Wolves, thrashing Daryl Powell’s men, 40-4.

Injury news

Huddersfield will still be without Theo Fages and Chris Hill, though Oliver Russell is vying for a recall after missing last week’s win with a hamstring problem. Luke Yates is still suspended, but Oliver Wilson returns. This game still comes too soon for Leeds halfback Aidan Sezer, but there is huge news on Harry Newman who could return to make only his second appearance of the season. Alex Mellor is also back for the Rhinos with Morgan Gannon dropping out.
