Huddersfield Giants v Warrington Wolves teams confirmed as Sam Burgess makes Matt Dufty call

Warrington Wolves

Warrington Wolves head coach Sam Burgess has brought Matt Dufty back into his side for this afternoon’s clash with Huddersfield Giants.

Warrington currently sit five points behind the play-off pace and they can keep their hopes of finishing inside the top six alive with a win at the Accu Stadium today. Should Wakefield Trinity fail to beat Wigan Warriors, a Warrington win would see them move to within three points of the top six with a clash against Salford Red Devils next on their calendar.

The Wolves are still very much in the race then and Burgess will be keen to see his side put it together this afternoon after falling short against the Giants in their last meeting at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Dufty has missed the last two games after being stood down for disciplinary reasons but he gets the nod to return today and he starts at full-back in place of Stefan Ratchford.

Toby King is fit enough to be involved too and he replaces youngster Zack Gardner who misses out with a hamstring problem.

James Harrison returns from injury as well and he’s named on a bench that is notably lacking Joe Philbin.

Huddersfield have little to play for at this point in the campaign, but Oliver Russell is set to make his second debut for the club after joining on loan from Wakefield. Taane Milne is banned so Aidan McGowan steps into the outside backs.

Tom Burgess comes into the fold to play against his brother’s side. However, George King has been denied the opportunity to go head to head with his sibling, with the forward named as 18th man.
