Huddersfield Giants v Hull KR: Kick-off time, TV channel and predicted line-ups

Both with talented squads, Huddersfield and Hull KR will be eyeing up the top six in 2022. Hull KR have the momentum of last year whilst the Giants have generated a fresh start with some smart recruitment and a strong Round One showing.

The Giants powered through Toulouse last week winning 42-14 after a slow start racking up the points in the second stanza. It was exactly what the Giants will have wanted going into the new season.

Hull KR meanwhile had the exact opposite as they were beaten by Wigan at home. The Robins will be hoping to shake that off and display their attacking talents at the John Smith’s Stadium today.

Kick-off time and TV channel

The game kicks off at 15:00 at Huddersfield.

Unfortunately, this game can’t be seen live on TV but highlights will be available on YouTube on Super League’s official page. The tries will also be available on the BBC’s Super League Show.

Predicted Teams

Huddersfield Giants
The Giants lost Jake Wardle in last week’s win but fortunately have Ricky Leutele and Jermaine McGillvary available again. I believe both will be included meaning one of the Senior twins will likely miss out. Will Pryce and Ashton Golding’s continued absence means Tui Lolohea will remain at fullback with Olly Russell remaining at six with Theo Fages at seven. Beyond that, after such a dominant win, I believe there will be little in the way of change.

6 Tui Lolohea
2 Jermaine McGillvary
4 Ricky Leutele
21 Leroy Cudjoe
22 Louis Senior
23 Olly Russell
7 Theo Fages
8 Chris Hill
9 Danny Levi
14 Matty English
11 Josh Jones
12 Chris McQueen
13 Luke Yates
Substitutes
15 Joe Greenwood
17 Owen Trout
18 Sebastine Ikahihifo
31 Olly Ashall-Bott

Hull KR
As for the Robins, they could give a return to Elliot Minchella after nearly a year out but it’s a case of whether he’ll be ready to come into the side. Meanwhile, Ethan Ryan’s return puts pressure on Sam Wood on the wing but, after such a strong pre-season, I believe Wood will remain on the wing. Albert Vete’s absence meanwhile will see Korbin Sims move to prop, Matty Storton to 13 whilst Dean Hadley could come in at second-row unless Minchella is indeed ready to return.

1 Lachlan Coote

3 Brad Takairangi
4 Shaun Kenny-Dowall
