Huddersfield Giants suffer massive blow

Huddersfield Giants have been struggling for injuries this season.

Forwards Joe Greenwood and Josh Jones have been out for long periods and Olly Wilson only returned this weekend.

Meanwhile, in the back Ash Golding is out for three months whilst Theo Fages and Olly Russell are also set for long periods out of the side with injuries.

Now the Giants have suffered further blows in their 20-14 defeat to Hull FC yesterday.

Whilst Giants boss Ian Watson is unsure how Wilson pulled up after his return from injury he confirmed further blows in the spine.

Will Pryce has aggravated an ankle injury which looks serious at the moment whilst hooker Nathan Peats suffered a hand injury which is exacerbated by the absence of Golding.

Perhaps George Roby could be recalled from his loan at Swinton to take the pressure off Adam O’Brien.

On the injuries, Watson said on BBC Radio Leeds:

Will Pryce aggravated his ankle in the first half, we’ll see where Olly Wilson gets to after today but I’d probably say them two. Nathan Peats had a little bit of a hand injury as well but I’d say the one that looks the most serious at the moment is Prycey.”

Pryce was named in Shaun Wane’s England squad for this week’s game against France.

He will likely not feature however after this latest blow.
