Huddersfield Giants disappointed in the 2021 Super League season after being tipped by many to upset the applecart.
Ian Watson had been appointed to the head coaching role with the likes of Josh Jones and Luke Yates signing for the West Yorkshire club.
However, it took until the latter stages of the season for Watson and his men to start firing, with young halfback Will Pryce given a chance and excelling because of it.
And, with the former Salford Red Devils boss now able to rebuild his squad with the likes of Kenny Edwards and Aidan Sezer departing and others such as Chris Hill and Theo Fages joining, the Giants are predicted to do a lot better in 2022.
But, for 16 first-team members, it’s a case of trying to impress in order to obtain a new deal.
The Senior twins are amongst the 16, as are fellow Huddersfield academy products Sam Hewitt, Jon Luke Kirby, George Roby (who joined from Warrington in 2020) and Oliver Russell.
Giants legend Leroy Cudjoe is also in the last year of his deal, whilst new recruit Nathan Mason will be out to impress too to earn a longer contract.
Olly Ashall-Bott signed a year deal after previously being out of contract, with Jack Ashworth, Jack Cogger, Ashton Golding and Joe Greenwood on the lengthy list.
Chester Butler, who hasn’t played a game of rugby league for over two years, will be hoping for a better 2022, whilst veteran Australian Chris McQueen may hang up his boots.
Adam O’Brien is the last to be mentioned who has become a key part of the Huddersfield squad in recent seasons.
