Huddersfield Giants star studded first choice 17 revealed as surprise selections made including back up hooker

Huddersfield Giants have revealed their 2023 squad numbers and with that a star studded first choice 17.

There are some interesting selections from Ian Watson when it comes to this. This is because former Hull FC star Jake Connor has replaced Will Pryce as the number one with Pryce moving all the way back to number 32.

Meanwhile, Esan Marsters and former St Helens star Kevin Naiqama have taken the centre spots with former Wigan Warriors man Jake Bibby set to be the first choice winger ahead of Innes Senior.

Tui Lolohea keeps six but it will be interesting to see whether he plays stand-off unlike last season. Theo Fages is still seven.

Chris Hill understandably retains the number eight shirt as Nathan Peats replaces Danny Levi as the number nine

Interestingly Joe Greenwood replaces Michael Lawrence as the number 10 after the veteran left for Bradford Bulls. Greenwood was often an impact sub in 2022 with Oliver Wilson starting  yet he has no number in the starting 17.

The backrow remains the same as last year with Josh Jones, Chris McQueen and Luke Yates.

Former Leeds Rhinos man Ash Golding takes 14 as the replacement nine ahead of Adam O’Brien as Matty English moves to 15 and former Wigan man Harry Rushton takes 16 and Owen Trout takes 17.
