Huddersfield Giants secures overseas back on new contract extension

Huddersfield Giants have handed their backline options a major boost after securing French outside back Tanguy Zenon on a new one-year contract extension.

The 24-year-old former Catalans Dragons and Hull KR back, who originally joined the Giants’ squad earlier in the season, has put pen to paper to extend his stay at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Having initially arrived to provide cover following a spate of injuries across the Giants’ backline, Zenon’s versatility and flair across fullback and the wing quickly earned him a permanent place in the squad.

‘I’m really happy to extend my stay’

In a statement posted to the club’s website, Zenon expressed his delight at committing to the Giants as they continue building momentum for the upcoming campaign.

“I’m really happy to extend my stay here at Huddersfield,” Zenon said. “From the moment I arrived, the players, staff, and supporters made me feel welcome. I’m loving my rugby here and working under Luke, so signing a new deal was an easy decision for me.”

“I want to keep improving, contributing to the team, and helping us push up the table next season.”

Key depth for Huddersfield’s backline

Director of Rugby Andy Kelly praised Zenon’s impact since making the move to West Yorkshire, highlighting his adaptability and work ethic as key attributes for the squad moving forward.

“Tanguy came in at a crucial time for us and did a brilliant job stepping straight into the side,” Kelly stated.

“He brings great energy, versatility across the backline, and a fantastic attitude every single day. We’re delighted to keep him at the club as we shape our squad for 2027.”
